Coca Cola sta producendo delle t-shirt fabbricate dalla plastica riciclata dalle sue bottigliette in PET. Le magliette sono in vendita esclusiva presso Wal Mart.
Secondo le parole rilasciate da Scott Vitters, responsabile del progetto “sustainable packaging” di Coca Cola, “attualmente le nostre fabbriche USA non hanno la capacità di riutilizzare tutta la plastica recuperata dalle bottiglie in PET per costruire nuove bottigliette. Per questo a volte è più efficiente riutilizzare la plastica per prodotti di categorie non-food“.
