The Italian retailer Coop launches a new line of sustainble products
The new line of products includes food (i.e. 300 organic food products) and non food products (i.e. cleaning powders and washing liquids with the European Ecolabel). In the new line there are also single use dishes and glasses in PLA, a natural material.(source: youmark.it)
Compostable Shoppers for Italian retailers Sma, Pam, Esselunga, Unes and Coop
In the next three monts, some of major Italian grocery retailers (Sma, Pam, Esselunga, Unes e Coop) will be distributing 2.4 millions biodegradable shoppers. These new bags, priced 10 euro cents each and developed in collaboration with the Lombadia regional government, are made of Mater-Bi, a compostable bio-plastic. According to Green Management Institute the initiative should cut 49 tonnes of CO2 emissions, saving 25 tonnes of oil.
Italian retailer Iperccop helps consumers to find sustainable products
Coop, one of italian main grocery and consumer goods retailers, has created a distinctive label for sustainable products. The 42 selected items have a label explaining why such products are sustainable (i.e. bio, packaging etc). Educational material on how to collect items for recycling can be found at the store as well.
