Carlsberg UK carried out a systematic waste review to identify areas where waste could be reduced. This approach has led to:
- total cost savings of just under £818,000/year
- a reduction of 1.5 m3 in water use per m3 of lager
- savings of about £360,000/year from a reduction in both the volume and strength of effluent
- further savings of £333,000/year from CO2 recovery.
